Victor V3: A New Era for AI-Powered Learning

Victor V3 is the most significant update in the history of Victor Academy. This isn't a minor patch or incremental improvement. It's a ground-up rethink of how our platform looks, works, and thinks. Every layer of the stack has been touched, from the interface you interact with to the AI models running behind the scenes.

Here's what's new, what's changed, and where we're headed.

UI Overhaul: Built for Focus

V3 introduces a completely redesigned interface. The old layout served us well through beta, but as our feature set grew, the experience became cluttered. V3 strips everything back to a clean, dark-first design system with monochrome tones, amber accents, and the Instrument Serif headline typeface. Every screen has been rebuilt from the onboarding flow to the dashboard.

Key design changes:

• Full-screen immersive layouts that remove visual clutter and let you focus on studying
• Consistent design language across all pages with smooth transitions
• Redesigned onboarding with a modern multi-step flow that gets you set up in under a minute
• Dark-first approach optimised for long study sessions

Enhanced Exam and Mock Test System

The exam and mock test engine has been significantly upgraded. Tests now generate with better question variety, more accurate marking rubrics, and improved alignment with NESA syllabus dot points. The grading system provides more detailed feedback with specific references to where you lost marks and why.

• Smarter question generation that covers a wider range of syllabus outcomes
• More granular grading with per-criteria feedback and mark breakdowns
• Better exam simulation that mirrors real HSC conditions more closely
• Faster processing so you get results in seconds, not minutes

HSC Syllabus Tracker

One of the most requested features. The Syllabus Tracker lets you track your progress against the actual NESA syllabus for your subjects. It covers nine HSC subjects at launch: Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1, Mathematics Extension 2, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Advanced, English Standard, and Modern History.

Each subject is broken down into modules, topics, and individual dot points. You can mark items as not started, in progress, or completed, and the tracker calculates your overall coverage percentage in real time. It's the simplest way to make sure you haven't missed anything before exams.

Question Bank

The new Question Bank gives you access to a growing library of AI-generated practice questions organised by subject, topic, and difficulty. Unlike mock tests which simulate full exam conditions, the Question Bank is designed for targeted practice. Pick a weak area, drill it, and move on.

Questions are generated fresh each time, so you're never just memorising answers. The system adapts to your level and pushes you progressively harder as you improve.

AI Infrastructure: From Gemini to Claude, via NVIDIA

This is the biggest change under the hood. As Victor V3 moves out of the MVP stage, we are transitioning our AI backbone from Google's Gemini to Anthropic's Claude. Claude's approach to safety, reasoning depth, and long-form analysis makes it the right foundation for the next phase of Victor Academy.

Every AI request is routed through NVIDIA's inference infrastructure, powered by two high-performance models:

• Atlas Aeros (128B) by Mistral AI, optimized for free-tier users
• Atlas Pro (675B) by Mistral AI, our premium model for Plus, Lite, and Max-tier users

Both models are open-source, hosted securely on NVIDIA infrastructure, and selected for their strength in educational and reasoning tasks.

What's Next

V3 is a foundation, not a finish line. Over the coming weeks we'll be rolling out Claude integration, expanding the Syllabus Tracker to more subjects, and continuing to refine every part of the platform based on student feedback.
